iPhone X Won’t Turn on? Must-Try Steps to Fix the Issue

What can you do when your iPhone won’t turn on? This issue can be problematic because you often can’t do anything to diagnose the problem since you can’t access the device’s settings.

This problem can be caused by problems with the iOS software or damaged/broken hardware components. The following are some of the best solutions to try when your iPhone X won’t turn on;

Connect your iPhone X to a charger and allow the device to charge for at least 30 minutes undisturbed. At the very least, this problem will determine if an extremely low battery is causing the issue.

If the iPhone was completely drained, then it should restart after a few minutes of charging.

You should also check the adapter and cable you’re using to charge the device. if it fails to charge when you connect it to the wall charger, try connecting it to your computer or changing the cable and adapter you’re using.

If you have determined that a lack of battery power is not the problem, then it is likely that the problem could be caused by a faulty iOS system.

The easiest way to remove corrupt data and stop rogue apps that could be interfering with the system is to force restart the iPhone.

To force restart your iPhone X, press and then quickly release the volume up button, do the same with the volume up button and then press and hold the power button until the Apple Logo appears on the screen.

Sometimes the software problem could run deeper than a forced restart can repair and, in this case, it may be a good idea to use a tool like TinyFix to fix the problem.

TinyFix is useful because it will attempt to fix the common iPhone X systen issues, such as not turning on, device stuck on Apple logo, black screen, problem without causing data loss.

Download and install TinyFix on to your computer and then follow these steps to use it;

Step 1: Open TinyFix on your computer and connect the iPhone to the computer.

Step 2: Click “Enter Recovery Mode” to put the device in recovery mode. Wait a few seconds and click “Exit Recovery Mode” and wait for the device to restart.

Step 3: if the device still doesn’t turn on, click on “iOS System Repair” to try to fix the device without data loss. Click on “Standard Repair Mode” to proceed.

Step 4: Click on “Download” to download the necessary firmware to repair the device. When the download is complete, click “Fix Now.”

When the repair is complete, the device will restart and the issue should be resolved.

Restore Your iPhone X via iTunes or Finder

You can also use iTunes to try and fix the iPhone’s system. Open iTunes and connect the device to the computer. If iTunes is able to detect the device, create a backup of the device immediately and try to restore it.

But if iTunes doesn’t recognize the device, restore it in the recovery mode using these simple steps;

Step 1: Launch iTunes and then connect the device to the computer using USB cables.

Step 2: Put the device in recovery mode. To do that, turn off the device and then press and release the Volume Up button, press and release the Volume Down button and hold the Power (side) button until you see the recovery-mode screen.

Step 3: When iTunes asks, click on “Restore” and iTunes will restore the device to its factory settings.

Please note that if the process takes more than 15 minutes, the device may have exited recovery mode and you’ll have to repeat the process.

Troubleshoot a Hardware Issue

If you are still unable to get the device to turn on, the problem may be caused by hardware damage. Hardware issues can be more difficult to repair and may include the following;

  • Water damage: Perhaps the device got wet, causing some components to fail.
  • You may have dropped the device, damaging the screen or other internal components.
  • A manufacturing defect may also cause certain internal components to malfunction causing this issue. This is rare, but it can happen.

One of the best ways to determine if the device is damaged is to connect it to the computer. Open iTunes and if you see the iPhone’s icon appear in the top left, there may be the hope of getting it fixed.

Click on it to back up the device to avoid losing the data during the repair. If iTunes doesn’t recognize the device, then toy may not be able to save your data.
