Pokémon GO is an augmented reality version of the Pokémon game series. It involves hands-on traveling, searching for Pokémon, and catching them once encountered.
It introduced new and exciting gameplay that is unique across the mainline Pokémon games.
The game features almost all the known Pokémon in the Pokédex, including the ever-famous and powerful Metagross. This article will discuss how you can obtain one and add it to your team.
Let's get started.
Metagross is a popular Pokémon both in the games and in the anime series. It is a Steel/Psychic-type Pokémon known to be a pseudo-legendary.
Pseudo-legendaries are Pokémon that are rare and powerful enough to be legendary, but are not one-of-a-kind. It is the final evolved form of Beldum and can be further Mega evolved using a Metagrossite.
Famous Metagross users include Steven Stone and Alain. It has a pretty high Attack stat of 135 and Defense stat of 130. It wouldn't be surprising for you to badly want one on your team.
Finding a Metagross in the wild is almost impossible as this Pokémon is a final evolutionary form.
Final evolutions are usually hard to encounter in the wild, so it'd be easier and a better worth of your time to just catch the pre-evolved forms.
As mentioned earlier, the first form in the Metagross evolutionary line is Beldum. Find a Beldum and you'll be one step closer to obtaining a Metagross for your team.
During the December Field Research Tasks in 2021, Beldum was one of the rewards for completing one of its tasks. However, those tasks are long gone now.
Yet, you can hope and wait for similar tasks in the future that offer Beldum as a reward. In the meantime, here are other ways to get a Beldum in Pokémon GO.
Beldum is normally found in the wild, but it also depends on your location. If you are trying to encounter one in the wild, you can try these coordinates:
27.791149, -97.393404
40.65804,-73.91472
1.37336, 103.85145
-41.27861, 174.77251
You can also find Beldum in Tier 1 Raid Battles. All you have to do is to find a Gym hosting such a Raid Battle, fight it, then catch it in the end.
Raid Battles are usually tough, so make sure you have a bunch of strong Pokémon with you to win and have a chance of catching a Beldum.
Another way of obtaining a Beldum is through Eggs. Eggs are a simple yet taxing way of obtaining rare Pokémon.
All you have to do is meet the Egg's distance requirement to make it hatch, and you'll get a chance to obtain a rare Pokémon.
Beldum is one of the Pokémon you can obtain by hatching a 10KM egg, which is a tall task especially if you don't travel long distances.
In the mainline game series, you evolve Pokémon by leveling them up and gathering XP. In Pokémon GO, you evolve the Pokémon by giving them their candies.
In this case, Beldum needs to consume 25 Beldum Candies to evolve into a Metang. After that, you need 100 Beldum Candies to evolve Metang into a Metagross.
It might sound like a lot, but there are many ways to get candy.
One way is to catch more Beldums. Each catch gives you 3 Beldum Candies, and an additional candy if you transfer the caught Beldum to the Professor.
You can also make Beldum or Metang as your Buddy and walk around with it. This way, you obtain a Beldum candy for every 5 kilometers traveled.
Another fast but random way to get more candies is by hatching a 10KM egg. If you hatch a Beldum from an egg, you gain about 16 to 32 Beldum candies.
Rare candies can transform into Pokémon candy. These can be obtained through Research Field Tasks and Pokémon Battles.
Metagross is such a strong Pokémon that anyone would want it on their team. However, encountering one in the wild is no easy task.
The best way is just to evolve a Beldum into a Metagross. Simply catch or hatch a Beldum, feed it 25 candies to evolve it into a Metang, then 100 candies to evolve it into a Metagross.
To obtain candies, you can either catch more Beldums, walk with Beldum as a Buddy, or obtain Rare Candies through Field Research Tasks.
