One of the most recognizable solutions to change the location on iOS devices is iPoGo. It is particularly a good solution when you want to spoof your location so you can effectively play a game like Pokémon Go.

But while it is a very popular solution, it has suffered a lot of security and accessibility problems in the past, with most people still unaware of how to install iPoGo on their devices.

It is important to note that while there are very many ways that you can install iPoGo on your device, this article will primarily deal with one of them.

Here, we will show you how to use the Matrix installer to install iPoGo on to your device. Let’s start with what the Matrix Installer is:

What is Matrix Installer?

The Matrix installer is a desktop tool that allows users to sideload and install apps on their iOS devices. With Matrix, you can easily install third-party apps using the .IPA file.

It is therefore one of the best alternatives to Cydia, as you can install apps very quickly. You can also very easily save your Apple ID to avoid having to re-enter it every time you want to install a new App.

But as useful as it is, Matrix Installer does have a few limitations, including the following:

  • You will only be able to install 3 apps at a time
  • And, the apps will expire after 7 days, meaning that you will need to re-install them every 7 days using the Matrix installer

How to Install iPoGo Using Matrix Installer

The following is how you can use the Matrix installer to install iPoGo on to your iPhone or iPad:

Step 1: The first thing you need to do is ensure that you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer.

The Matrix Installer will not work without iTunes and having the latest version just reduces the chances of iTunes errors popping up as you install the app.

Step 2: If you had already installed iPoGo on your device, uninstall it before you can install it again.

Step 3: Now, download the iPoGo IPA file. You can find it on the iPoGo main website and numerous other sources online. Once you have the IPA file on your computer, install the Matrix Installer on your computer and then launch it.

Step 4: Connect the iOS device to the computer using its original USB cable. Matrix Installer will detect the connected iOS device.

Step 5: Now, drag and drop the iPoGo IPA file into the Matrix Installer or you can click “Device > Install Package” to ad the file.

Step 6: You will then be required to enter your Apple ID and password in the next screen. This is necessary to get and sign the developer certificate from Apple servers. It is probably a good idea to create a new Apple ID for this purpose.

Step 7: Wait for the Installer to complete the installation process.

Step 8: When it notifies you that the process is complete, unlock the device and go to Settings > General > Device Management. Tap on the developer Apple ID and trust it.

You should now be able to use the iPoGo app on your device.

Does Matrix Installer Still Work for iPoGo?

Matrix Installer may have worked at some point in the past, but most users who have tried to use it recently claim that it doesn’t work as well anymore.

Users complain that the signing process doesn’t quite go according to plan and sometimes the installer will even fail to detect their connected devices.

The Installer is so unreliable that even iPoGo official doesn’t recommend using it. Instead, the website recommends trying other methods to install iPoGo on to your device.

What to Do If Installing iPoGo using Matrix Installer Fails

If you have tried the steps that we have outlined above and you are unable to install iPoGo using the Matrix Installer, you can reach out to iPoGo via their website for an alternative.

There are also a lot of other solutions available online that you could try instead.

Having iPoGo on your device will give you a lot of leeway when it comes to playing Pokémon Go.

But on top of the fact that it can be hard to find the right way to install it, there are a number of other reasons why you should consider an alternative to iPoGo.

These reasons include the following:

  • To use iPoGo on your iOS device, you will need to jailbreak the device. Jailbreaking your device can open it up to as lot of security and functionality issues.
  • iPoGo is only available for iOS devices and not Android devices. A good iPoGo alternative for Android devices is PGSharp.
  • Using iPoGo for Pokémon Go is technically against Niantic terms and conditions. Using it too often can lead to a temporary or even permanent ban on your account.
  • The installation process, regardless of the installer you choose to use, can be a bit complicated and you may find that you need prior technical experience before you can install the app on to your device.
  • You may also not be able to depend on iPoGo for too long. It is a service that is likely to stop working at any time which can cause all sorts of inconveniences such as loss or progress in the Pokémon Go game.

Best iPoGo Alternative

If you find that iPoGo is not reliable, you may look for an alternative that is easy to install, easy to use and one that doesn’t require a jailbroken device to work.

The best iPoGo alternative is MockGo, an iOS GPS spoofer tool that is very useful when you want to change the location on your iOS device.

The fact that it has GPS joystick makes it one of the best ways to play Pokémon Go without moving. It also allows you to easily select the virtual locations on a map or import GPX files.

Here’s how to use MockGo:

Step 1: Launch the Program and Connect the iOS Device

Start by installing the MockGo on to your computer. Once the installation is complete, use the device’s original USB/lightning cable to connect the device to the computer.

Open MockGo and agree to the terms and conditions on the main page.

Step 2: Spoof the Location on your Device

The program will detect the actual location of your device and display it on the map. To change this location to anywhere in the world, click on the “Teleport Mode” icon at the top.

You can adjust and refine the location on the map by moving the pin around. The map makes this very easy by allowing you to zoom in and out as needed.

When you are happy with the location, click “Move Here” and wait for the program to update the device’s location.

Step 3: Simulate Movement Between Multiple Spots

You can also use MockGo to simulate GPS movement along a specified path by selecting the “One-Stop” or the “multi-Stop” mode from the options on the top-right corner.

You can then drop pins on the map to select the locations that you would like to use on your route.

Select the number of times that you would like to move along the selected route and choose the speed you want to be moving at. Then, click “Move Here” to begin the simulated movement.

The problem is that sometimes, it can be hard to install iPoGo and you need to jailbreak your device to use it. If you want to change the location on your iOS device without too much of a hassle, we recommend using MockGo instead.
