Pokémon GO is a game that requires outdoor activity and is based on location and distance tracking.

Considering this and what has been going on in the world, people are encouraged to stay at home thus making it hard to advance in the game.

Don't worry though because Niantic has been developing ways to make the game more playable for indoor players.

One of these developments is the Remote Raid Pass. This article will guide you through what this is and how you can get it free in the game.

Without further ado, let's get started.

Pokémon GO Remote Raid Pass

Pokemon GO Remote Raid Pass

A Raid Battle is one of the most exciting features in Pokémon GO. This is where Trainers in a certain area work together to defeat an extremely powerful Pokémon called the Raid Boss.

Defeating it will give you various rewards and achievements. However, this feature is getting harder to access since most people are now staying at home.

This is why Niantic introduced the Remote Raid Pass which allows players to participate in Raid Battles through the comfort of their own home.

Through these passes, you will be able to join raids that are shown on the Nearby screen in the game's interface.

This saves you the time and effort in leaving the house to physically travel there.

You only need one Pass per raid but Remote Raid Pass will grant you reduced damage compared to those who are actually within touching distance of the Raid.

This keeps the essence of the game alive. You can get one Remote Raid Pass from the in-game store for 100 coins and a pack of three for 250 coins.

How to Get a Free Remote Raid Pass

Remote Raid Passes are bought through coins and coins can be bought through microtransactions.

If you don't have the money to buy a Remote Raid Pass, there are ways to get it for free. Here are a few ways:

Research Breakthrough

You can actually obtain a free Remote Raid Pass through Field Research Tasks. All you have to do is to complete seven (7) Field Research Tasks.

This will lead to you having a Research Breakthrough which will reward you with a Chimeco encounter and the free Remote Raid Pass.

To do this, you must complete one Research Field Task per day.

Event Box

This method isn't entirely free, but it is very cheap. It only costs you 1 PokéCoin, which you can easily earn from playing the game.

An event box appears in the item shop every first Monday of the month which includes a Remote Raid Pass. That's a steal!

As mentioned earlier, you can earn coins by playing the game and doing activities such as challenging Gym Battles.

This is technically free since you aren't spending real money to buy such coins but it does require hard work and dedication.

A Workaround to Get Remote Raid Pass

As you can see, there aren't many ways to get the Remote Raid Pass for free. If you truly need to join the Raids, there is an alternate way to do it.

This is done through using external applications that can spoof your location so that you can "join" the raids.

A recommended app is the MockGo iOS GPS spoofer app which is reliable and pretty easy to use.

It allows you to change the GPS of your device to anywhere in the world in one click.

What makes it unique is that it has a walking simulation feature to make the game believe that you are actually walking to different locations.

You can also change your speed by choosing between walking, bicycle mode or car mode.

Here are the steps on how to use it:

Step 1. First, download and install the application. After installing, launch the MockGo.

Step 2. Next, connect your iOS device to your computer and connect it to the application.

Step 3. A world map should appear with a search bar on the upper left corner of the screen. Click on the first option located at the top-right corner to change the GPS of your device.

Step 4. Search for the location of your choice on the search bar and adjust the pin on the screen.

Step 5. Then click on the Move Here feature.

Finally, the GPS location will be changed immediately.

You can use the Multiple Spot Feature as well which is located at the upper right corner of the interface.

This makes you simulate travel on more than two spots so you won't always travel in a single, straight line. That's it, you're good to go!

Simulate the Multi-stop Movement

The downside with this software is that it is a paid software. The best deal you can get for a license is a monthly license that costs $9.99 a month.

Remote Raid Passes made Raid Battles possible to do from the comfort of your own home.

However, it is not that easy to get if you don't want to spend real money for it. There are ways to get it for free, of course.

You can get it through Research Field Tasks, Event Boxes and through PokéCoins.

If these methods don't work for you, there is an alternative.

You can use an external software like the MockGo app to spoof your location so that you can go to Raid Battles without actually moving.
