A new security feature was launched by Google with the release of Android OS version 5.1 (Lollipop) and higher. The new security feature is FRP (Factory Reset Protection), which secures Android devices from robbery.

It also protects the data of the user as the owner needs to enter their Google credentials to unlock FRP. But, if you forget the last sync Google account, then after a factory reset, you cannot access the phone.

FRP is enabled by default whenever the user adds a Gmail ID to their smartphone for the first time. It will then prevent any user from using the phone after a hard reset through recovery mode. So, if you want to perform a factory reset, then disable the FRP lock.

If you own a pre-owned phone with an FRP screen, unlock it by entering the previous owner's Gmail ID. You cannot access the phone without verifying Google credentials. You can use an FRP tool for a PC or use an FRP APK to bypass the lock.
